WINTER STYLE STAPLES

'Tis the season to be jolly, and stylish.

This season we have been bombarded with a plethora of catwalk inspired looks from the 70s vibe, bright hues, the comeback of the monogram, and the rise of the platform. So I have put together three of my favourite winter items that are wardrobe staples and will keep you warm in the run up to Christmas and beyond.

Hats

I’m not one for a traditional beanie all the time, so the key to hats is to know your personal style. I prefer structured hats that won’t let in any rain. Opt for a wool fedora/modern cowboy style, which whilst trendy a few years ago is in fact timeless and usually stays in place even in gusty winds. Some great picks are available at The Outnet.

Boots

Practicality and style do not have to be polar opposites. These black leather ankle boots, not only provide protection from the cold, but the pointed toe elongates your foot for a sophisticated look. Ankle boots are a versatile shoe for winter, as they can be worn with both jeans, tailored trousers, midi dresses and maxi skirts. Farfetch, Selfridges and Aldo also offer great ankle styles.

Coats

Masculine coats are everywhere and if you are not a fan of the teddy/shearling coat, and wants something that makes more a statement you can opt for a suede leather re-imagined trench like this one from Muubaa. the lines are classic and flattering on all body types with the wrap style allowing you to tailor your cinched in waist. You can also layer with a shawl scarf or underneath with luxe knits.

So whatever your style, invest in these three items and not only will you be cosy but you’ll turn heads for all the right reasons.
